Kristen Stewart Was An Audience of One at Chanel’s Metiers d’Art Show

Kristen Stewart was an audience of one at Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Show

We’re used to celebrities getting the best seat in the house, but

Chanel’s most recent fashion show took A-list benefits to a new level of extravagance. At the fashion house’s latest Métiers d’Art Show in France, the team took physical distancing guidelines very seriously and invited only one audience member – long-time Chanel lover Kristen Stewart.
According to Nylon, Chanel’s latest runway event required 300 employees to create and only an audience of one to witness it in person. The show took place at Château de Chenonceau in France, which was chosen for its historical impact on the fashion house. In a statement released by Chanel creative director Virginie Viard, she called Château de Chenonceau an “obvious choice” because of its former inhabitants, including Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de’ Medici, two women who inspired Coco Chanel to create the brand’s iconic looks. Both women were known for their black-and-white ensembles, a trademark for Chanel and one that was continued with the unveiling of the latest collection.

Viard
described the latest collection as pulling from different
moments in time. “I like everything to be mixed up, all the
different eras, between the Renaissance and romanticism,
between rock and something very girly, it is all very Chanel.”

Stewart spoke to WWD about the history of the Château and

the famous women who lived there. “I was just telling

Virginie, it felt like the story was folding in on itself,” said

Stewart via Nylon. “The women who lived here before were

really into art, and promoted a lot of creativity, and loved to be

inspired and inspire other people to come create, and I was

imagining who our characters were while watching the show.

I’m always proud of her, but it felt very personal this time.”

Stewart first became associated with Chanel when she was

chosen as the face of the company’s Western-inspired line in

2013. The American actor will once again be heading a Chanel

campaign as the face of the collection that launched during the

December 3 show. Stewart’s new ads showcasing the

collection will be filmed by Juergen Teller, who has worked

with just about every other major fashion house, including

Helmut Lang, Yves Saint Laurent, Vivienne Westwood,

Céline, Louis Vuitton and Valentino. Teller filmed this week’s

show and has released footage taken from around the

stunning Château.

Stewart dressed for the occasion in all black and a layered

string of pearls, a must have for any Chanel outfit. Sitting on

one side of the extended hallway, Stewart had a front row view

of the Fall 2021 line, which included several button-up coats

and wide legged pants that her Happiest Season character

Abby would have loved

Moschino Fall Winter 2020 Collection

Moschino RTW Fall 2020

Marie Antoinette was Jeremy Scott's muse this season.

Jeremy Scott teased the punchline to his Marie Antoinette-themed Moschino show with his invitation — attached to elaborately iced, nonedible baked goods — and then delivered it with finale looks that were tiered and frosted: “Let them wear cake!”

Groan. The visual jokes seemed a bit more obvious this time, the main one being pannier skirts chopped into perky minis. Scott stretched white T-shirts, hoodies, Perfecto leathers and jeans jackets paved in gold bullion embroideries into stiff little dresses that emerged from a pink palace and stalked a runway of antique mirrors.

You had to laugh when you realized his hoods were long enough to accommodate powdered pouf hairstyles taller than the French queen’s — or Marge Simpson’s. Clutches in the form of baguettes and macarons had wit, and the show came to life when Joan Smalls and Gigi Hadid started vamping it up.

The rest of the clothes you can almost conjure without being there: frock coats and breeches in patchworks of rich damasks that seem ripped off the walls of Versailles. Japanese anime characters were incorporated into toile de Jouy and needlepoint prints — something unexpected. The rest was pure sugar rush and empty fashion calories. Bow Wow Wow’s “I Want Candy” was the finale song.

Backstage, Scott drew parallels between the French Revolution and social upheaval today, and made the point that Marie Antoinette endures as an icon “without having Instagram, photos, videos or cinema of her herself.…So there’s something fascinating because I love iconic women,” he said, adding, “A bit of decadence and joy is the best form of rebellion you can have.” You can see it all on Instagram — and meme your heart out.

Kaia Gerber Dyed Her Hair Pink

Kaia Gerber Dyed Her Hair Pink On Instagram After Revealing That Cutting It Short "Changed Her Life A Lot"

Kaia Gerber, who is off-duty from physical runway shows at present, has now reached peak quarantine after revealing on Tuesday that she's dyed her hair again!

Yep, like so many of us at home right now who are suddenly feeling bold enough to try something new, Kaia has been experimenting with various colours and styles over the last couple of months.

In a 7-minute IGTV video, Kaia revealed that she'd dyed the hair herself under the watchful eye of British Vogue’s contributing Beauty Editor and hair stylist Guido Palau, who gave her instructions over Zoom (duh).

"I've always loved people who just do whatever they want with their hair," Kaia told Guido in the call. "I never thought I'd have coloured hair but here we are."

Kaia went on to reveal that the (maybe surprising) influence behind her hair transformations recently was Kurt Cobain. In fact, he was the part of the reason Kaia cut her hair short in the first place.

Honestly, the first time I had  Guido Palau cut my hair was because I wanted to look like Kurt Cobain, she said. “ Slowly, every year, I take another step becoming him.

Kaia Gerber Shows Off Blonde Hair (And A Broken Arm) In A Lockdown Update

Kaia Gerber Shows Off Blonde Hair (And A Broken Arm) In A Lockdown Update

Kaia Gerber takes to her instagram to tell of “a little accident that led to a dislocated wrist” she wears a bright blue full arm cast and looks like she’s in good spirits anyway

So far, Kaia Gerber has taken lockdown in her stride, from taking endless pool-side selfies with her tiny husky-bulldog mix puppy to launching her first book club, featuring cameos by everyone from Jia Tolentino to Lena Dunham. Not even supermodels, however, are accident-proof – as Kaia proved when she shared an image of herself on 16 May in a giant arm cast (and, yes, a micro bikini).
“Had a little accident but I’m okay!” she stoically captioned the image, which was followed by an X-Ray showing a dramatic fracture. Naturally, the fashion industry was quick to jump in with well wishes, with the likes of creative director Fabien Baron and fellow model Georgia May Jagger posting messages of support and healing.
Almost as noticeable as the sky-blue cast? Kaia’s significantly lighter hair. The model first dyed her locks at home after watching an online tutorial in late April – opting to apply hydrogen peroxide directly onto the strands. (As any hairstylist will tell you, this is a risky manoeuvre.) She’s also considering bangs, if her recent post of Audrey Hepburn cutting her own hair is anything to go by.
