We’ve all come to know and love the signature Rosso Valentino colour, but for Fall/Winter 2024-25, Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli is scrapping it, presenting his Valentino Le Noir collection.
With a name like that, you’d expect a collection entirely shown in black, and that’s exactly what Maison Valentino did. The choice of going black was inspired by the French Poet Charles Baudelaire’s quote that reads “Black is the uniform of democracy.” In this collection, black was not looked as a void nor lack of colour, but rather as a blank canvas that served as the starting point for Pierpaolo Piccioli’s painting of the new collection. Take a look below at the key looks.

Layers of ruched detailing effortlessly fell on top of themselves, gracing floor-length gowns, one modelled by the iconic Vittoria Ceretti, and above-the-knee dresses. These looks merged solid and sheer layers, using skin to provide further contrast to the chic, monochrome palette. Thanks to its layered detailing, these layered ensembles moved with each stride taken by its wearer. These were packed with an eveningwear-appropriate personality, and we won’t be forgetting them in a hurry. |
